Christmas came early this year. We just received notification that the owner of Pittsburgh Technology Management, Nick Boris, has been named to the2014 MSP Mentor 250!

The seventh-annual MSPmentor 250 list honors the world’s top managed services provider (MSP) executives, entrepreneurs and experts. The list is based on their annual global readership survey plus MSPmentor’s daily coverage of the managed services market.

Why We Are Successful

PTM’s focus has always been the end result for our customer. It took a long time to formulate our plan and a lot of effort to finally get to where we are today. Our clients are a big reason for our success. They are business owners that saw potential in our strategy. Most of all, they bought into our way of thinking and Nick’s vision for what ENJA Computers and later, Pittsburgh Technology Management would eventually become.

Business Results First

Our focus on delivering practical results for business is the key to our strategy. Any IT company can talk about security, backup, server management, and help desk. How those pieces impact business is the important piece that goes unnoticed. We recently posted a simple infographic about productivity that illustrates the point. 10 minutes of avoidable wasted time per employee for the average 20 person company can cost $1,600 per month or more. We understand that when our clients’ employees are efficiently working instead of dealing with, even minor, technical issues, we can have a profound impact on the business.

How We Do IT

Utilizing technology, process and standardization, we are better able to deliver predictable results to all of our customers. Many times, we can reduce reactive issues by up to 70%. By reducing the time that we spend resolving avoidable problems, we are better able to implement our best practices and standards in our clients’ systems. This further reduces the reactive issues and enables us to spend more time planning and getting to know our clients businesses. As we improve our clients’ environments, they gain momentum and become more profitable. We are then able to take the time to find new ways to utilize their technology to propel their business further.

The same concept holds true for us. We have the advantage of observing many environments from a bird’s eye view. We can observe trends, security vulnerabilities and potential problems before the need to react becomes necessary. As our customers become more efficient and productive, so do we. The perpetual improvement allows us constantly improve our processes and procedures.

Where We Are Going

In December of 2014, PTM began offering digital marketing services to the Pittsburgh region. Over the years, we observed the need for a collaborative and analytical approach to search engine optimization and social media marketing. We observed our clients’ frustrations with their marketing, website and SEO consultants and knew that we had a method to address their concerns and deliver positive results.

Search engines are the new yellow pages. If a company cannot be found when someone is searching for their product or service online, they are fighting an uphill battle and leaving money on the table. Website design, content and social media all play large parts in a company’s online strategy. The PTM way ensures that a company’s message gets out to the people that need to see it.

What a Ride!

The past couple of years have been wild! PTM has completely changed. What was once a local computer repair shop is now a dedicated managed service provider. With Nick’s recognition from MSPmentor, the world now knows what we knew all along… PTM is changing the way that IT is managed in the Pittsburgh area.
