Happy Hour With Snap Forward – July 7th, 2016

This week’s topics include:

1:42 – Little Things That Companies Do Wrong, and Little Things They Do Right

Small things add up to big impressions. Taking time to eliminate small inconsistencies and improper communications can make all the difference when it comes to building a great reputation with your clients.

18:00 – Meatball Sundae by Seth Godin

We discuss the concept of reverse bell curve pricing which is covered in the book Meatball Sundae by Seth Godin. In the past, products were mass produced and sold at a fair price. Today the norm is either to sell extremely cheap and plentifully (i.e. Walmart, Costco, etc.) or very high end and costly (i.e. Apple). The concept states that those selling at mid range will be overlooked and are less likely to be successful.

32:30 – Facebook Scam Friend Requests Are Becoming More Frequent

Be on the lookout for bogus Facebook profiles which send out friend requests to unsuspecting people. They have been known to steal information and use it to duplicate existing profiles and then send requests for money to the friends of that person.

35:08 – Microsoft Support Phone Scams

Another recent scam to be aware of is the tech support phone scam.  It’s usually someone who identifies themselves as a member of Microsoft’s support staff. They may give a lengthy explanation of how they’ve received reports of problems on your computer and need to access your system to repair it. Know that this person is most definitely not with Microsoft and does not have intentions of helping you in any way.

38:25 – Amazon Prime Day is coming up on July 12

Amazon’s 2nd annual Prime Day is on July 12th. It’s a one-day-only global shopping event where deals are offered throughout the day to Amazon Prime members.
